My TBR Shelf is out of this world…

How does one tackle 200+ novels??

So it was about 4 years ago that I wrote a second post regarding my Bottomless Bookshelf and at that time, the list finished at 190. I’ve managed to knock a few off of that list, but 1) there are still books on that list I haven’t read, and 2) for every book I read, I seem to purchase 3. I clearly need a sabbatical from work. Review: Eden

Eden by Candice Fox

Usually a sequel is a little disappointing. This is especially the case when the first in a series, and debut novel for the author, is absolutely amazing. Reading Eden, I was slightly nervous. I wanted the amazing-ness to continue. This is a series in which I was already in love with the characters and the grittiness of the stories. I was not disappointed. Candice Fox delivered another 5-star read. Read more…

The 2015 Reading Challenge – In Review

Last year, I thought it would be a grand idea to try the 2015 Reading Challenge: a list of prompts that would allow one to read 52 books. In the beginning of the year, I went all out with excitement determining what my reading list would be; I had the books separated from my gigantic TBR shelves and was all prepared to completely blow this thing out of the water. Looking at the 2015 Reading Retrospective, you would think that by having read 102 books, I totally did blow that challenge out of the water. Read more…

Reading Retrospective 2015

Well this year was a busy one regarding life in general; despite that, I managed to have a record-breaking year for reading books! I thought 80 books in 2013 was amazing. Thinking that I wouldn’t be able to come near that, I set my goal for 60. I blew that out of the water by reading 102!! Mind you, a lot are graphics novels (very quick reads for me), and many are free Ebooks found thanks to bookbub.com. Still, a good year. Read more…

Review: Part & Parcel

Part & Parcel by Abigail Roux

It’s Nick and Kelly time!! This one came up as a surprise for me. I was just browsing my email when I decided to finally open the ‘What’s Happening at Riptide” email. Lately I’ve just been deleting everything. That then got me thinking that I haven’t looked at what was happening with Abigail Roux lately, one of my favourite (maybe obsessively favourite) authors. Low and behold a new book was coming out, publication date: December 21, 2015!! I always order her books through the publishers; often times I can get a lovely e-book/tangible book combo deal. And with Nick and Kelly, how can one person pass that up?? They might have surpassed my love for Ty and Zane, which is pretty huge. Sorry, Ty. Sorry, Zane.

Part & Parcel, the third book in the Sidewinder series, is so much feels; sometimes bone crushing, heart wrenching feels. The majority, though, is a good ole character development story; something that is not often there with Roux. As such, Part & Parcel is a refreshing surprise. Read more…

Review: Crash & Burn

Crash & Burn by Abigail Roux

This book gave me feels. Major, major feels. 1) It’s the LAST Ty and Zane novel * sobs * 2) Abigail Roux is the queen of torture!!  I’m going to try and write something coherent, but I’m not sure how I will fare. Read more…
